The site is currently the Altenheim senior citizen residence at 1720 MacArthur Blvd, Oakland. The Altenheim,, was founded by German speaking immigrants in the 1890s. The buildings have been modernized on the interior and won the Partners in Preservation Award from the Oakland Heritage Alliance in 2007. The original 1893 buildings, built by the Altenheim Society, were replace with the current buildings after a fire.","extract_html":"
